Lily Primason, DVM

Dr. Lily Primason grew up in Westchester, NY surrounded by a large family of pets, including 5 cats and 2 dogs. She received her Bachelor degree magna cum laude in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Tulane University. Her love of New Orleans inspired her to experience new cultures around the world, so she spent time traveling prior to starting her graduate degree. She went on to receive her veterinary degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. She then moved to Brooklyn and practiced there as a small animal practitioner, where she honed her skills in internal medicine and surgery.

Dr. Primason has always been able to empathize strongly with animals, a skill that led her to develop a particular interest in pain detection and management in her patients. She has been involved in multiple scientific studies researching pain in animals. She is certified in veterinary acupuncture from the Chi Institute of Florida, a pain treatment modality she is particularly excited about bringing to Sutton Animal Hospital.  Dr. Primason lives on the Upper East Side with her husband, their two cats, and their dog Poppy Seed.
