Vaccinations

Vaccinations are an important part of your cat’s health. Vaccinations are geared toward prevention of diseases, and it is important to have your cat properly immunized throughout his/her life. At Sutton Animal Hospital we will tailor your cat’s vaccine protocol to his/her exposure risk and needs. If you ever have any questions regarding your cat’s vaccines, or if it has been a while since your cat has been vaccinated, please call us at (212) 935-0823.

Happy Cats Make Happy People

30 Minute Appointments

Each cat is unique, and proper health care takes into account individual needs, lifestyle, and breed-specific requirements. That is why, at Sutton Animal Hospital, we have 30 minute appointment slots to ensure your cat has a comprehensive wellness care visit. Unlike most veterinary hospitals that offer 15 minute appointments, Sutton Animal Hospital provides expanded appointment times because we know that consistently thorough care cannot be provided under rushed conditions. This additional time is necessary to obtain an accurate account of your cat’s health, give a comprehensive physical examination and discuss with you, in detail, our recommendations and answer any questions you may have.

If your schedule should not allow time for you to be present during the appointment, you also have the option of leaving your cat with us for part of the day. During this time our veterinarians and nurses will promptly provide the necessary care for your cat and can speak with you over the phone.  Please call our animal hospital to schedule your cat’s appointment.

Dental Care for Cats

Dental care is important for cats, just as it is for humans. Dental issues are common in cats, and neglecting dental care can lead to various health problems. Cats are prone to dental problems such as periodontal disease, gingivitis, and tooth decay. Regular dental care can help prevent these issues, ensuring your cat maintains good oral health.

In addition, dental problems can be painful for cats. Cats may not show obvious signs of dental pain, but they may exhibit behaviors such as difficulty eating, drooling, or pawing at their mouths. Regular dental care can help identify and address dental issues before they become painful for your cat. Maintaining good oral health contributes to your cat’s overall well-being. Cats with healthy teeth and gums are more likely to enjoy their meals, engage in normal behaviors, and have a better quality of life.

Regular dental examinations allow us to identify and treat any dental issues early, and regular professional dental cleanings allow us to remove plaque and tartar buildup before the plaque has time to turn into gingivitis.

If your cat has not had a dental checkup in a while, please call us to schedule a dental appointment to keep your cat’s mouth healthy and pain free. For more information about feline dental care at Sutton Animal Hospital, please visit our pet dental care page.

Senior feline health care can enhance a cat’s quality of life. Regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and preventive measures mean cats are more likely to remain active, playful, and mentally engaged as they age.
