Ultrasound
Ultrasound is an excellent, non-invasive imaging device that uses sound waves to create an image of organs within the body. Typically, animals do not require sedation for this non-painful procedure.
Sutton Animal Hospital has an ultrasound machine that is used by the doctors for a FAST scan of the abdomen. It is used to sterilely collect urine samples as well as to drain abdominal or chest fluid.
We have a board-certified specialist, Dr. Alex Rousseau, who performs our detailed sonograms and consults on the case.
